Just a quickie pre-Christmas check-in here.
I have been rather busy since returning from Burning Man. So much so in fact that I got a bit over-stimulated and went back to my mom’s in NH for a few weeks to get a “nature cure” (its the one thing that DC cannot provide). I have also been twice already to Ananda Ashram near NYC, which is now my favorite go-to place for regeneration as well, and which I much prefer to Sivananda now. Especially as you can stay for free with a 5-hour work-exchange, and I am still a starving artist after all.
So I have two rather big pieces of news. First is that my gift-economy status at the intentional community where I have been living, which is called the Glowhouse, is ending, which is lighting a fire under my ass to come up with some viable business venture, hopefully becoming one of those honest hard-working Americans that our president loves so much. I actually love living in intentional community, I have always known that this is the life for me, and particularly here at the Glowhouse which has a social-activist and entrepreneurial orientation. (If you have not listened to our latest podcast by the way, with my partner / housemate Darrell and friend David Swedlow, it rocks. It is here). So I am really very happy here. There is only the minor problem of coming up with $900 rent (which is cheap!)
Which is where the second big news fits, which is that I am starting an Online course series designed to help men and women have more love, more community and better sex in their lives. I will be doing a pilot course with some partners in January, its called Online Dating for Conscious Men: Strategies for Success, which we are doing on the gift economy for now. We hope it will be just the beginning of a series of courses for men, women and mixed-groups which we will start officially in February.
It’s an odd feeling, both great excitement and sadness to be doing this, because I believe it is pretty much what I was born to do. Sadness because its taken me 30+ years to get to this point, I call it “the 30 year war against myself and against the world, trying to make a buck and get a little love, mostly unsuccessfully“. And sadness and anxiety that I still have some way to go there as well.
But that’s life! Help me / us out, if you can, by sending that link http://authenticsinglesdating.com/ to anyone you think might enjoy or benefit from it. To note that this course is the direct result of my 2 1/2 years deep immersion in Circling. What I am doing now is taking this into the streets into what I consider the greatest pain-point of Western culture, which is relationships between the sexes. With me luck!
